It’s baaaaack….

Winter that is. Somehow we managed to escape Chicago’s typical icy blast until this week.Lucky us! We now have to face the inevitable reality of living in this climate, and the effects that extreme cold weather has on our buildings.

One big consideration is preventing pipes from freezing.The Red Cross suggests a few small steps to take during this weather that could help avoid big problems later:

I am pleased to announce the publication of Lenore Weiss Studios’ Glencoe Kitchen Remodel in this month’s Interiors Chicago, on newsstands now!

Over the past months I have kept busy in the studio working on a variety of projects for both new and long-standing clients. It is truly rewarding to see my work recognized in Interiors Chicago.

The Glencoe Kitchen Remodel project, featured in the publication, challenged me to open up a closed-off dark area in this 600 square foot space, while integrating storage and function with materials that blend with the existing home. See the full feature in Interiors Chicago by clicking here.

I’ve crossed an ocean. Both figuratively and literally. Let me explain. As I prepared to launch my new entity, LWS, I took some time to travel with the primary objective of enriching and even challenging my own ways of thinking about architecture and design. I traveled across the U.S. and Italy, exploring the underpinnings of my professional practice, and have added to my body of knowledge in new, astonishing ways. I never really appreciated the value of a professional sabbatical until now, as I enthusiastically look forward to sharing all that I’ve recently experienced in my work going forward.
